Listen, it’s no secret that I am a sucker for bold. Bold color palettes, bold details, and bold decisions make up some of the best photo opportunities out there. So when I found out that Colin and Whitney wanted to have these vibrant pops of color and bold accents in their bridal party, florals and decor, I was excited to say the least.
Framing these perfect color choices was a beautiful venue in Tennessee, the Sandy Creek Event Center. With subtle wood detailing and an indoor/outdoor vibe, I was shocked this was the first time I had ever shot this venue. These two adore nature and going on adventures together, so I could not imagine a more perfect location for this event. It was so fitting for their personalities and the life that they live together. We were able to capture some precious outdoor portraits (with input from the bride who is also a photographer!), but had to step into the shade whenever we could because this turned out to be one of the hottest days on record for 2020.
The bride was no stranger to the heat though because she grew up bonding with her father over games of softball and one of my favorite moments during this particular day was the father daughter dance where Whitney and her dad stopped to play a short game of catch mid dance. These little sprinkles of life are what make weddings special and I highly encourage you to consider little details like this if you’re planning a wedding!
Colin and Whitney are originally from Kentucky, but planned their wedding from their new home in Colorado with the help of their local friends and family. And huge shoutout to everyone for stepping up and helping plan this wedding during a pandemic, date change and all! Regardless of the curve balls that were thrown at them, they were able to have the wedding of their dreams.
At Rebecca Ann Aesthetic, we love a good puppy shot- and the Marshall’s did not disappoint. Roux, their family dog, did her absolute best job serving as a flower girl for this couple. After Roux left her trail of flowers Whitney proceeded down the aisle in a gorgeous gown from Anne’s bridals, not to mention the soft boho braiding from Lindsey Manker at Disorellas salon and subtle, natural makeup from Morgan Clark.
And can we stop for a second and mention that even the heavens decided to match these wedding colors? Wait till you see this sunset! The colors on a hot July day in Tennessee is unrivaled and lent a perfect transition into a fun filled reception that ended in a sparkler send off for the newly married Marshalls!
