Choosing the right outfit for your big day can be a daunting task, especially for grooms. We all immediately think of the wedding dress, but honestly- the grooms attire is just as important. Furthermore, there is a serious lack of education out there for menswear.
In this article, we are going to go over our three favorite styles, starting with the traditional tuxedo.
Traditional Tuxedo, a Classic Choice in Menswear
First, the most traditional and timeless options for grooms is the tuxedo. A tuxedo is a formal evening suit characterized by a tailored jacket with satin lapels and matching trousers with a stripe down the side. It is typically worn with a formal shirt, bow tie, and dress shoes. Tuxedos are rented or purchased, and come in a range of styles and colors, including classic black, navy blue, and charcoal gray.
The Suit- a Menswear Staple
Next up- If you’re looking for something a bit more modern and casual, you might consider a suit. A suit is a set of matching jacket and trousers made from the same fabric. Suits can be formal or casual, and come in a variety of colors and patterns. For a wedding, it’s best to choose a formal suit in a neutral color such as navy, grey, or black. You can dress up a suit with a dress shirt, tie, and dress shoes, or keep it more casual with a button-down shirt and loafers.
Morning Suit
Another option for grooms is the morning suit, also known as a morning coat. A morning coat is a type of formal daywear consisting of a long tailcoat, waistcoat, and trousers. Morning Suits are worn with a formal shirt, cravat or tie, and dress shoes. Wear this for a formal daytime wedding as they are a traditional choice.
No matter what you choose, it’s important to feel comfortable and confident in your outfit. Take the time to try on different styles and see what works best for you and your personal style.
