Here's a little known fact that may surprise you: provocative photography of women in their lingerie has been a thing for nearly 100 years. Yes-- before quick film developing, before digital cameras, before women could vote and, get this: before it was even legal!
I will spare you all the historical details and just tell you that women have been posing for the camera in their sexiest lingerie (sometimes sans clothing at all!) since the early 20th century. And as you have seen in art class, many have posed for the paint brush and painter even earlier than that, as well.
For that reason, we here at Rebecca Ann Aesthetic consider boudoir photography a rite of passage; a gift to not just your significant other, but to yourself. It is a celebration of you, your womanhood, your beautiful body and your sense of spirit. Some may even think of it as a homage to the many women of all shapes and sizes who have posed before them.
Since 2017, RAA has worked with women of various stages in their life. We do lots of bridal boudoir photography, as soon to be married women find photos of themselves a thoughtful gift to their other half.
That is just the beginning, though. In the past, we've done boudoir for women celebrating their new figures, women who want to give a special birthday or Christmas gift to their partners, and women who simple feel beautiful and sexy and want to relish in that.
Our studio prides itself in our professionalism, attention to detail and the ability to make you feel absolutely at ease throughout your boudoir session. Past clients have expressed to us that they were nervous-- naturally!-- at the beginning, but warmed up quickly. We laugh, we get serious, we have fun, and we promise you this: you'll walk away not only feeling more confident in your own skin, but absolutely beautiful.
This welcome page fills you in on all the details you need to know about Rebecca Ann Aesthetic's boudoir photography packages. If you still leave with more questions, don't hesitate to shoot us an email or give Becca a call.

You have questions, we have answers
Q: I'm really nervous. Is that normal?
A: It is definitely normal to be nervous for your boudoir session, so don't worry. Most of our clients are nervous until the session has gone on for a few minutes. After it starts, you’ll begin to loosen up. If you’re still nervous, try out these relaxation tips we’ve provided in another blog post: Click here.
Q: How do I know how to pose?
A: Don’t worry about posing. We've totally got you covered in that department. We know all the tricks to create the most flattering angles for you, no matter what shape or size you are.
Q: Do your packages include hair and makeup?
A: We do offer packages with complimentary hair and makeup by a professional MUA. See our full list of session packages here for pricing.
Q: Am I allowed to bring alcohol to help loosen my nerves?
A: As long as you're over 21, that’s totally fine with us. We do offer champagne or wine at your session to help you relax. However, too much alcohol can cause blotchy skin so moderation is key!
Q:Do you provide the wardrobe?
A: We do not provide your wardrobe. This is something you’ll have to pick out and bring along yourself. If you need help choosing an outfit, we can definitely give you some suggestions, though.
Q: I want share these pictures with my partner, but I don't want loose prints floating around. Any ideas for the best gift?
A: This is a very common concern and we totally understand. We recommend placing an order for our little black book. This is much more discreet and will keep all of your images in one place and not floating around. We also offer prints and wall art as well. For more information on these products, just ask.
Q: What should I bring to my boudoir session?
A: For our sessions, we suggest three different outfits and any props you may want to incorporate, body suits are our personal favorite. Need help choosing props? Check out this blog article we’ve written on incorporating your partner’s interests by clicking here.
Q: Can I bring a friend?
A: Yes, you can bring a friend if you think it will help you relax. However, sometimes an extra set of eyes has the opposite effect, even if it is a friend. They are more than welcome to come, but if they are making you uncomfortable, they may have to wait out in the lobby.
Q: Will my session be with a male or female photographer?
A: Our team is composed of all women, so you will only have a female photographer for your session.
Q: Do you do touchups?
A: Yes, we will smooth skin and do some basic retouching on all of your purchased portraits.
Q: I’m not a model – are boudoir photos still flattering even if my body isn’t perfect?
A: Absolutely! Nobody is perfect and every woman is sexy. If you have any specific concerns, contact us and we can talk about it!
Q: Do you do outdoor boudoir sessions?
A:We currently do not have our own outdoor location to do this, but if you have some private land, let us know and we’ll set something up. We do offer outdoor boudoir sessions, but only if they take place on your private property. It also has to be in a secluded area, so nobody can see us during the session. We do this to protect you and our company.
Q: Do I have control over who sees my images?
A: Yes, most certainly. We will only share photos if you have given us permission and have approved the images for sharing. We respect your wishes and won't post or share any images if you’d prefer they stay private.

Boudoir Do's
Choose your Wardrobe – Lingerie is great, but you don’t have wear it if you don’t want to. A button down shirt, sports jersey, oversized sweater, or tight shirt and booty shorts are great alternatives. Be sure to try on your outfit(s) prior to your session to ensure everything fits properly.
Accessorize– Make sure you think about jewelry, shoes, props, etc. Pack anything you need to get it ready for your session. For props, we suggest bringing personal items that are significant to your partner – sports gear, dog tags, lab coat, button downs etc.
Hair and Makeup – We highly recommend using our makeup artist. If you need suggestions on who we like to work with, please contact us. A MUA will make sure that you look flawless and ready for your close up.
Exposure – Talk to us prior to the session to let us know what you are comfortable with and how exposed, or unexposed, you want to be during your session. Everyone has a different comfort level, and we like to be aware and informed of your expectations prior to your session so there are no awkward moments.
Pre-Session Beauty Prep – We suggest getting a mani/pedi a few days prior to your session. If you wax, don’t forget to pencil that into your schedule, as well. If you want to have a base tan for your photos, we recommend beginning to tan a few weeks prior to your session to avoid burning – and remember to think about your outfit and avoid any tan lines that will look bad in photos. We suggest staying away from spray tans. Don’t forget to get your eyebrows shaped before your session.
A few days before your session, lower your salt intake to avoid bloating and also eat a light breakfast the morning of. Drink a lot of water leading up to your session for beautiful, healthy skin and get a good night’s rest the night before. Shave and moisturize for beautiful legs. Wear a clear deodorant. Don’t wear tight clothing, bras, panties, socks, etc. the morning of your session or driving to your session. These will leave red marks on your skin and we want you looking your best.
Relax – The most important thing you can do is relax. We will make sure you look amazing in your photos, so don’t worry! If you’re uncomfortable, it will show, so just keep calm.
DONT's
Avoid these Boudoir Faux Pas During your Session
Bad Tan Lines/Sunburn – If you have not been tanning recently, don’t tan just before your session. You can get sunburn or really bad tan lines, which are not flattering in photos. Also avoid spray tans at all cost, as they tend to photograph poorly.
Getting drunk at your session – If you are nervous about your session, it’s OK to have a glass of wine to rest your nerves. That said, don’t get wasted before or during your session. This is one of the worst things you can do. Your eyes will be blood shot and droopy and it’s just a recipe for disaster.
Choosing the wrong sized outfits – Choose lingerie that is just the right size for you. You don’t want loose lingerie that gives your body no shape or hides your beautiful curves. On the other hand, lingerie that is too tight can be unflattering.
Heavy Makeup – We strongly recommend getting a makeup artist for your session. You don’t want to slather the makeup on too thickly. It’s more about accentuating your natural features and making you feel – and look – stunning.
Forgetting to shave/wax – Always remember to shave or wax any exposed area that needs to looks smooth and sexy. The ‘au naturel’ look is so ‘70s. Unless you’re going for that vibe, please remember this tip.
Becca is so talented and knows how to get her clients out of their shell! If you are shy in front of a camera, like me, she is 100% the photographer for you! She captures your purest laughs and lets you be yourself. I could not wait for her to photograph my wedding. Mandy, is also the best! She was amazing in capturing and recording our wedding day - we couldn't believe the quality and attention to detail contained in our films.
Becca & Mandy, or the DREAM TEAM, are amazing! They shot both of our weddings and were amazing both times. They make everything so easy, and do absolutely amazing work! I cannot stop looking at our pictures and people have said they’re the most gorgeous photos they have ever seen. Looking at the pictures ALMOST makes me wanna get married a 3rd time #covidwedding
Becca is the absolute BEST! From my wedding day to capturing sweet moments with my newborn she has given my family memories that we will cherish forever. The fact that she is the sweetest soul is just the icing on the cake!
I HIGHLY recommend Becca for your photography needs for your wedding or any special event! She organized the whole day perfectly, and helped the flow of the wedding go so smooth as well!
No moments ever felt awkward in front of the camera! She helped Colin and I, and the wedding party too feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and would capture those true, genuine moments which I loved!
